My photographic journey. Where did it all begin, and where I am with it now.
My first introduction into photography was around 2012, after having a little Fuji point and shoot which I used for a few family photo's, I decided I wanted a "better" camera, I then purchased a Fuji HS10 bridge camera. This camera served me very well but by 2016 my love for photography was rapidly expanding, I found myself loving streets and urban scenes and I also enjoyed wildlife photography. One thing I had always wanted to do was night photography and the bridge camera was very restricting in this field.
2016 was my first step into DSLR cameras (and the world of Nikon!) I picked up a D5300 which was my main camera for a while until one of the buttons started playing up, I then picked up a D7500 which was a big step up. In 2020, after a year with the D7500 I was getting the itch for full frame photography. This resulted in me selling my D7500 and buying a secondhand full frame camera, a Nikon D750. The D750 was an absolute true workhorse and has produced some amazing images for the last 5 years. More recently, in mid 2025 I made the move to mirrorless, purchasing a Nikon ZF. The ZF is proving to be a gem of a camera.
Throughout the years I have done a fair bit of stuff, helped at the Bomber Command with their twitter account, photographer for Lincoln United Football Club, helping out on events by St Barnabas with Lincoln Camera Club - covering events such as the colourdash, it's a knockout, the torchlight parade, the moonlight walk. Helping Lincoln Castle with the Illuminated Wall Walks. I was also invited to cover the first main set of concerts at the Castle in 2024 from the photo pits, which included getting close to my childhood idols Madness, it was wonderful to capture Suggs through the lens, alongside other artist such as Crowded House, Kaiser Chiefs, Jess Glynne (featured below), Paloma Faith and Greg Porter, alongside the backing bands.
Today, I am again back to my roots with photography, just a hobby - pure bliss and joy. I no longer take on events, I just grab my camera when I want with no worry about deadlines. I simply take pictures, edit them to my style and share them on various social media, if someone likes an image then it is a bonus, I do not crave for likes. I would rather have someone like an image for what it is, rather it be driven along by Facebook  algorithms. If someone does not like my style then that's fine, photography is very subjective.
One big influence that I have is my love for black and white photography, this started early on with my photography and it still has a big place in my heart. This is still one of my main directions.
Sales wise, I don't crave for any full on sales drive, but I am more than happy to make prints available upon request, please see my sales page for more info.
